Well my PS3 got the YLOD, a problem that I'm beginning to think is much worse than Sony will have you believe.  I was able to fix it for now but who knows how long it will last.  There's no way in hell I'm paying Sony $160 to fix something that should have worked in the first place.

The more I think about it this is a very disappointing generation of gaming.  The Xbox 360 and the PS3 break, the Wii doesn't have enough quality games and feels overpriced, and the PC has become a DRM nightmare with few games I even want on it.  If my PS3 breaks again I may very well be done with gaming for a while.  Maybe it's a blessing in disguise.
