Most of the games I like are the artsy, offbeat ones. Shadow of the Colossus, Katamari Damacy, Okami, Silent Hill (the first two, at least), Ico, Psychonauts, etc.

hahaha @ artsy. i like that description. shadow of the colossus is one of my favorite games, along with katamari damacy and okami!

ico is a classic, one of the most innovative games i have ever played. if only they had extended it some--i finished it in 3 days (and i wasn't playing obsessively at all!). but it's still beautiful, and perfectly animated so i guess i know what you mean by "artsy".

not to steer you away from buying a ps3, but when my brother took my ps3 and i was stuck with my ps2 again, i didn't really miss it that much. imo, ps2 > ps3. still, some new games were worth the purchase.

The one exception is "Viewtiful Joe," because Joe's voice is SO damn annoying.

amen to that. also, add prince of persia: warrior within to the list and marvel vs. capcom 2 both so frustrating, especially the latter...i just mute it. >.

I loved Katamari Damacy and Okami. With the high-tech graphics of new next-gen consoles, I doubt we'll be seeing those kinda games anytime soon. I'm glad all three of us share the same love for Shadow of the Colossus. There's only the Chinese version of ICO available here and I have played it and have to say I'm not really into puzzles.

PS2 better than PS3? First time I heard anybody said that.

I don't find Viewtiful Joe, Prince of Persia or Marvel vs Capcom 2 annoying. Well, the music in "M v C 2" is slightly annoying, though.
