PS2 better than PS3? First time I heard anybody said that.

Hmm, really? When initially released, that system completely bombed (here in the states, at least), and while I think it's been able to make money since, it hasn't sold nearly as many copies as the Wii or Xbox 360. This is generally due to the perception that it's an inferior system to the PS2 - it isn't backwards compatible, for one thing, and while it does boast a blu-ray player that only appeals to a niche market of gamers. Frankly I think 90% of the reason they did so poorly was that they didn't have an anticipated exclusive launch title, while the Xbox had Halo and Wii had about a dozen great games.

On a side note, my old game design teacher (a graphics programmer, formerly for Rockstar) informed me that the PS2 was notoriously difficult to program for, and the PS3 even moreso, over the more programmer friendly Xbox. Many companies apparently prefer to program for the Xbox, and while most of the big titles come out for both, this explains why the "plays better on Xbox" critique of many PS3 games might not just be pro-Microsoft propaganda. I've generally preferred Playstation and have never owned an Xbox, but this is still interesting and explains a few of the difficulties that Sony's had with their new system.
