ergh I haven't really had time for video games the past few years, but! I still kind of love them

Favorite game:
Final Fantasy VI (III in the US) - I still have it on SNES, the reissue on playstation, and as a rom on my SNES emulator...

Favorite franchise:
Monkey Island - hands down my favorite ever. If I ever have a bastard child, it's going to be named Guybrush (no matter the gender) and there's a good chance I'll name a pet LeChuck one of these days. I literally learned to read as a child by playing The Secret of Monkey Island. LeChuck's Revenge is definitely the hardest of the series (in MegaMonkey Mode), and Secret has the most nostalgia value, but The Curse of Monkey Island is by far the best and !!!!! it had some of the best artwork and writing of any game ever. The fourth one was of course a big pile of crap the raped the dead bones of the first three, although the serialized fifth game (that just came out last year!) was a return to form in terms of writing and originality. The puzzles were still a bit easy.

Favorite system:
tie between Playstation and PS2 - I loved all of the Playstation RPGs (Suikoden, Azure Dreams, Saga Frontiers, Star Ocean, Tales of Destiny, Tactics Ogre, FFVII, FFVIII, even Final Fantasy Tactics, etc etc etc), but I wasted several months of my life on Everquest Online Adventures on my PS2 with dial-up modem. Oh lordy was I a nerd... sitting in the unoccupied "gaming" wing of my house listening to the Four Seasons and the BeeGees on a 5 hour Everquest bender.
of course, SNES was really great too... ack it's tough (Chrono Trigger but that was later re-released on Playstation...).

I'm using a Mac right now, but when I had a PC and wasn't playing Monkey Island on it, I was probably playing one of the Baldur's Gate games, any of the Warcrafts, Age of Empires, or Myth games

I currently have a PS3 but I don't have any games for it :/
I'm completely out of touch with current games.
